Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman investor speaking, consultant and syndicated columnist. She is also an author, and television personality. The Corcoran Group, an NY-based real estate broker, was founded by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the business. Corcoran was one of the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank. By February 2020, she had completed 53 deals. One of them was a $350,000 investment to Coverplay at 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in an Irish-Catholic working class family. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father during Corcoran's early years. Her family was sometimes dependent on food deliveries from the local grocer who would deliver free food. Corcoran states that her father was a drunk who treated her mother with disrespectful and disrespect. Corcoran was a struggling student in school. Later, she discovered she had dyslexia. Corcoran began high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. After failing several courses in her first year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and graduated as a D student.
